Background
Oveja Negra is a an independent clothing brand created by Silvia Sarti, a Uruguayan designer who has a strong presence in the markets of Colonia, Montevideo, and Punta del Este (Uruguay), and has hopes to further expand her international presence. Using only virgin wool, Silvia creates original and unique works to achieve a style seldom seen in other designers. As such, designers and clients worldwide value her creations.
In order to grow her brand and prepare for its European Market launch, Silvia sought us out to develop her new brand image.
Strategy & Objectives
Before developing the Oveja Negra brand image, we undertook an extensive market study of brand identities from Europe and the United States, sourcing over 100 worldwide brands.
Once our research was complete, we worked carefully to select the font type to appropriately fit the brand name and image, modifying the font style to be elegant and memorable. Importantly, the logotype includes Silvia’s name and country in order to achieve a brand identity that references the product origins.
The logotype was created to have various color schemes in order to facilitate adaptability for different communication pieces. Green, yellow, white, cyan, black were the colors elected for the principal applications.
In addition to developing the logotype, we developed the stationary, packaging and web graphics*, which have been used in several notable Uruguayan and Argentine hotels.
In 2010, the Oveja Negra brand will be presented in Europe through different various mediums to the fashion World.
