It is no longer about being the most experienced one but being the most agile and flexible,” said the specialist in his speech.
During the event, George Lever, Director of the Digital Economy Study Center CCS analyzed the Electronic Commerce outlook in the country. According to figures by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, Chile achieved 4 thousand million dollars in sales during 2017 and they estimate that this year the numbers will surpass the 5.000 million, which represents a 30% growth.

The percentage of companies that now sell online has reached 15%, being higher this year the participation of micro and small businesses.
Chilean Minister of Economy, José Ramón Valente, was at the opening of the event and he highlighted the constant evolution of this industry and the need for the Government to address the emerging challenges as: the inclusiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises to be able to develop their businesses, the narrowing of the educational gap and the development of larger digital infrastructure in which they are currently investing nearly 1.7 thousand million dollars annually. He also stressed the major challenge of improving internal logistics and the importance of earning the users’ trust, which are now having better shopping experiences, thereby eCommerce keeps growing steadily.
